Updating our Master Bedroom with pops of color

Shop:

Hi friends!!
As you probably can tell, I’ve had the home decor, updating and DIY bug since we moved into this house last August. Some projects have been fun and some downright exhausting, as it typically is when you move into a new home.
However things like updating rooms with fresh bedding and decor is always fun for me. I like to keep the base of each room neutral and simple so it’s easy to change out things like area rugs or bedding. Until now, everything was white including the duvet cover for a bright and light vibe. Here’s a look at the most recent update in our master bedroom with a pop of color.

Dark Clay Duvet Cover // White Duvet Cover // Chunky Bed Blanket (we have a Queen) // Pillow Shams // Bedside Tables // Gold Wall Lamps // Wood Picture Above the Bed // Platform Bed // Sheer White Curtains // Black Curtain Rods // White Wall Tapestry

The large floor plant is a Bird of Paradise from Bloomscape.

(I bought the large square ottoman at TJMAXX a few years ago. Here are a few similar ones.)

I love decorating our home however I tend to change my mind a lot on the styles of decor or colors I like. I’d like to say it’s all the moving around in the military and constantly needing to switch things up but honestly, styles come and go. One minute I like all white bedding and the next I’m adding pops of color like now.

That’s why I knew it was important to keep the base of everything neutral. Every single wall in our house is painted white. I chose white so that way I can go wherever Target, errrr… I mean, my current sense of style takes me.

White Walls: BEHR Premium Plus in the color FROST.

Leather Moroccan Pouf // White Wood Dresser // Bedside Table Planters // Artificial Pothos Plants // Tall White Vase // Rabbit Tail Dried Flowers

The wall near the bedroom door is currently empty and I’m not exactly sure what I want to put there. I’ve been thinking of adding a very large floor mirror, however we already have two in our room that are not pictured. Whatever we put here I want it to be functional and very minimal so it doesn’t crowd the room. What do you think I should add??
I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you so much for reading today’s post and I hope you found some inspiration to make your own home updates.

Have a great day!!
